11/11/2023 0 Comments Hideaway grill![]() ![]() There must have been a potato famine of sorts with the price of what was received (very small). The nachos were good, I must say but the potato skins were over-priced for what you get! Four halves, yes, two potatoes, for $9.00. Please keep in mind that these were nachos and potato skins and not some lavish dishes. Thank the heavens that the game was good because it took another 20+ minutes for our food. They had a good beer selection, thank goodness, and we placed our food order (large nachos and an order of potato skins). 15 minutes later our beers were delivered. After 25 minutes we finally asked if we were going to be served and finally someone assisted us and took our order for two beers. There was a couple of tables shoved together with 5 to 6 women sitting there and getting the attention of two servers. individual showed us to our seats and we began watching the game waiting for our waiter to come by. There was a good group of people there but the place was not packed and we were happy to find some tables available. We went here last Friday night to watch a televised football game and have some food and a couple of beverages. My y Rudy's almost next door to the Hideaway for the best service, cocktails and food on this side of the valley. Still the worst managed and worst service in Boise/Meridian area. The owner was playing shuffle board, the bar manager and two cocktail waitresses enjoying their own evening on the customers side of the bar. Meanwhile down stairs, there were about 20 customers. There more than 100 customers, with only the bar tender and a server delivering food to the patrons who came to enjoy the band and company of friends. When she did finally take my order and bring me my drink, there was no cocktail napkin, no straw and not even a thank you for the dollar tip that she really didn’t deserve. What did she have to do that was so important? Well, she needed to unwrap the cocktail napkins and sort the liquor bottles. When the lone bartender did acknowledge my presence, she asked me wait for just a minute. be bothered to hire enough staff to accommodate a large crowd, you must elbow your way to the bar and wait…and wait. Every time I go I always tell myself ‘never again’! Although the do bring in some great entertainment, the service or more accurately, lack of service, leaves me frustrated. I keep going back to the Hideaway for the live music upstairs. For those who are military, they are working on getting a military discount. There is an elevator to access live music upstairs when they have a band. Both upstairs and downstairs restrooms are easily accessed. Many of the tables are tall, but just around the corner are shorter tables. This establishment is one of the most wheelchair friendly establishments I have been to in years. I am a wheelchair user and I like to do a writeup on restaurants that are wheelchair friendly. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The food was very tasty, the portions were generous, the beer selection was very nice, and the prices were good. Danny was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable with a side of humor. Danny was attentive, very helpful with drink menus and answering questions about the various. My sister Laura and I go out every Tuesday evening and try out a different restaurant.
